Not crafty? Not to worry. This DIY headboard idea requires very little hands-on work and very little investment – but, has a huge impact. “Don’t splurge on a headboard,” Nate told our friends at PopSugar. “You can find them everywhere! I tend to personalize a headboard by draping a textile over the back of it. That way, it’s very easy to change out.” See how Nate puts it into practice in the photos to the left, and read on for more ideas.
See how Nate used a rug(!) to update a tufted headboard in this video he made with Housebeautiful.com.
And now for the final (and most fun!) part of this project: choosing the fabric! Whether you’re looking for something to bring romance, worldliness, a nature-inspired feel, or artistry to the room, these options from Nate’s collection at Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores have you covered. Clockwise from top left: Dree Floral, Gem, Cleone, and Iko.
