What’s Inspiring Lauren Buxbaum & Sasha Adler This June

SASHA’S LIST
WEAR: I am obsessed with everything Alessandro Michele designs for Gucci, from the traditional horse-bit loafers to the vintage-inspired and embellished dresses. His sophisticated mix of color and pattern, as well as his modernized nod to the past, is nothing short of creative genius. I recently took inspiration for a girl’s bedroom straight from the runway.
GROOM: Glossier’s Balm Dotcom is my favorite! It’s a rich, moisturizing skin salve that’s the perfect all-in-one miracle. I use it on everything from lips to cuticles – even on my kids. They just launched Cherry and Rose, which have the most subtle hint of color that’s perfect for barely-there summer makeup. I am smitten!
MOVE: My workout gear consists of primarily black, black and more black. Totally boring and the excuse I have been giving myself for my recent sabbatical from the gym. However, I just discovered Outdoor Voices, which is totally worth working out for… I hope.
WATCH: My husband and I have been binge-watching House of Cards on Netflix. It is intense, captivating and totally addictive.
DECORATE: Not only am I madly in love with these hand-woven rugs and runners (which can be customized in a rainbow of colors), but I am also enamored with the beautiful story behind the company. Founded by a mother and daughter, Awanay employs native artisans in South America to weave the textiles using ancient techniques, and ensures they are fairly compensated for their work.
LAUREN’S LIST
SPRITZ: Sasha brought me back this Tabaco perfume from Coqui Coqui in Tulum. I’m so grateful Net-a-Porter sells it because I would be in dire straits without being able to get refills! It’s my go-to summer fragrance.
GROOM: The beauty site, Violet Grey, is another problem for me and my makeup addiction: I can’t live without this Tom Ford eye pencil. I smudge it on every day, and for me, it makes the most impact in the least amount of time. Key for life with a 7-month-old at home!
UNWIND: Nothing helps me de-stress like music (and a solid glass of wine). My favorite group, Miike Snow, just released a new album that I’ve been listening to every day on my way to work It never fails to put me in a good mood.
INDULGE: Speaking of that glass of wine, last summer I was pregnant and couldn’t drink, so this summer I plan to make up for it. On our first warm day, my husband and I darted out the door to one of our favorite restaurants, Nico Osteria, to sit al fresco with one of our favorite sauvignons, Venica.
