Chicago Townhouse

Nate Berkus Associates Partner Lauren Buxbaum Gordon renovated her 1883 Georgian townhouse on Chicago’s Gold Coast with the goal of honoring its original architecture—including an elliptical staircase—as well as the antiques she’d collected over the years. Working around the narrow floor plan was a welcome challenge, resulting in layered, highly personal rooms that functioned beautifully for the family. As Lauren said, “It was kind of a cathartic experience to be able to implement everything I had dreamed of doing, and it helped me figure out what truly makes me tick aesthetically.”
