While all still working from home, the design firm decided to take on another Design From a Distance challenge because…why not! This time, Nate and Wini Mapel, one of NBA’s design superstars, joined forces to redesign Melinda‘s family room in Oklahoma City. Melinda had a budget of around $5,000 and her criteria: she wanted it to be “family-friendly, but pretty.” Nate and Wini went ahead and upped the style factor with navy blue paint and more grown up decor, while adding in a ton more storage to help corral the kids’ toys. Read on for the design details.

Patterned upholstery and textiles together with wicker sconces and a jute rug add loads of texture (which means the room feels a whole lot more interesting), while the large gold mirror enhances the natural light and feels, well, oh so stylish.
